Calendly is one of the easiest and most user-friendly scheduling tools out there. It's perfect if your non-profit regularly books appointments, meetings, or interviews and wants to avoid the back-and-forth of email. It syncs with your calendar, lets people book a time that suits them, and handles reminders automatically.

That said, as a stand-alone tool, it comes with a price tag that's hard to justify for smaller teams already using Google Calendar. Google's free appointment slots feature covers the basics well, especially for internal use.

Where Calendly stands out is when you need to set up multiple booking types, route bookings to different staff members, manage group events, or collect information at the time of booking. It also offers a cleaner booking experience, custom questions, and more control over availability, which can be helpful for programs like volunteer inductions, donor check-ins, or student mentoring.

If your team handles a high volume of external bookings and needs something polished and reliable, Calendly is a strong option. For everything else, Google might get the job done.
